Hello all !

Just wanted to let you know about a NEW Samba band that is forming in L.A/So cal.

L.A Drumcore is L.A's newest Rad Samba/Marching band.
That means the band is for peole whe are active in radical social and political change.
We will be playing at Protests, demonstrations, benfits, gigs, parties and more!!

Musical style is Samba, fused with Punk, Funk, Ska, Hip Hop and more.

The band is starting after futile attempts to find ANY Rad (activist/political)
Samba bands in L.A. Or any BIG open/community samba bands for that matter..
And NO I won't travel all the way to Long Beach in the evening for the band out there.
Let's do it here in L.A....
This is one of the biggest cities in the WORLD.. Why not more Samba here ???

We welcome drummers, brass & horn players, dancers, puppetistas and more.
NO musical experience is neccesary as ALL tution is provided.

We strive for an equal female/male balance so females are especially encouraged
to join & to drum !

You MUST provide your OWN Samba/marching drums, instruments.
But you will be taught how to make your own Surdos/marching drums.

You're Mestre' has 8 years experience playing Samba, dancing Samba, costume desingening & more...
and also has been leading full Baterias for 3 years.
She has also played with Rhythms of Resistance and other rad samba or marhcing bands.
